Biography
Ildy was born in 1985 in Rimini, on the night of Mardì Gras, the 20th of February.
Her name is her father’s idea, and he hopes that she will be using it in the future as her artistic name.
A little later she picks up her first words, her favourite game is jumping around and constantly singing cartoon themes.
Already when she is four years old, after having exasperated her mother, she succeeds in enrolling for a dancing school in which she passes her “R.D.A.” exams (Royal Academy of Dancing, London) and which, over the next 15 years, is to become her second home.
Growing up, her musical repertoire changes and to save her father’s ears he sends her for singing lessons.
Over the years she studies various dancing styles: commercial jazz, hip hop, new dance concept and musical.
In 2000 and 2001 she wins regional selections as an emerging singer and she takes part in the “Sanremo Academy” competition, which leads her to participate as a guest at the “Sanremo Rock” competition.
At the same time she is awarded 2 scholarships as a jazz dancer and this encourages her to go on. She chooses to study in an Art College from which she graduates in 2003 with very high marks even though her mind is immersed in her music.
Meanwhile she sings in pop-rock bands, participates in the TV programme “Una canzone per te” on RAI2 and in various series of “Ciak,si ride!” with Pippo Santonastaso presenting.
For 5 seasons she works in Rimini as a UISP leading activities organiser, and after college, thanks to her family, she decides to transform her “hobby” into something more tangible.
She spends three intense yet unforgettable years graduating in 2007 from the “Bernstein School of Musical Theatre”-B.S.M.T.- of Bologna, under the direction of Shawna Farrell, where she has the opportunity to study also with Denny Lemmo, who is an honorary life member of the “Actor’s Studio”, New York.
In “B.S.M.T.” productions she plays the roles of:
- “Proprietor” in “Assassins” by S. Sondheim;
- “Little Girl” in “Ragtime” by L. Arhens and S. Flaherty;
- the main role “Little Sally” in “Urinetown” by M. Hollmann and G. Kotis.
Then in 2007-2008 she works as a singer, dancer, choreographer and costume designer for various operettas, cabaret and variety shows.
With bags of enthusiasm and passion, in the summer of 2008 she works as a dance captain of Marcello Fanny (dancer and choreographer) and takes part as a dancer in the European Premier of the Musical “The Beggar’s Holiday” at the “Teatro Comunale” of Bologna, directed by Gianni Marras.
In the summer of 2008 she wins a scholarship for the “G.S.A.” (Guildford School of Acting), London.
On top of this she takes part in masterclasses, one of which is at “Arts Educational”, Academy of Musical Theatre.
Ildy’s currently performing as singer and dancer in caberet and burlesque shows throughout London and is part of Milo Miles Entertainment and Primo Atto Productions with Madeleine de la Crème.
